Kevin Carroll has more than 31 years of experience as an educator. He has served as a teacher, principal, adjunct professor, and educational expert. Currently he partners with other educators, capitalizing on his successes as a school leader. His experiences as an administrator steered him to become a servant leader who believes that all decisions made are based on what is best for all students and all staff.

In 2013, Kevin was hired as the principal of Sparks High School in Nevada. The school needed drastic improvement, Kevin and his team began their work focusing on graduation rates, credit attainment, collaboration, and school culture. Through that work, in 2017 the school was recognized as a Model Professional Learning Community and was exited out of the district’s Acceleration Zone that same year. The school was deemed a Nevada Department of Education’s Highlighted School the following year.

In 2016, Kevin was instrumental in the founding of the Nevada Leads program at the University of Nevada. He was involved in the curriculum development, taught a master’s level course on school leadership, and supervised future school administrators during their internships. In 2019, Kevin was named the Nevada Association of Student Councils Administrator of the Year. He was also recognized as the 2021 Washoe County School District Licensed Administrator of the Year and the 2021 Nevada Association of Secondary Schools Principal of the Year. He was published in 2019 in Insight: A Journal of Scholarly Teaching, with an article that focused on the co-teaching experience in a graduate level, principal preparation course.

Kevin received his bachelor’s degree in secondary education from the University of Nevada and his master’s degree in educational leadership from Grand Canyon University. After his retirement from the school district, his passion for leadership continues to thrive and school transformation is a top priority.
